Ah, Italia: Venice’s famous St. Mark’s Square stood by as the Pershing Sea Show pulled into town earlier this month. The Sea Show is essentially a roaming boat show focused on Pershing’s newest model, the 72, held in various spots all over Europe. This was the third leg of the tour, with previous stops in Split, Croatia and Mallorca, Spain.
Pershing says buyers from five continents flew in to see the 72, which was also joined by other offerings in the Pershing range. While the main attraction for the clients was, of course, sea-trialing the 72 and personally inspecting her sleek Italian style, they welcomed being wined and dined by Pershing over the course of the Sea Show. Of particular note was an evening at the Hotel Westin Excelsior on the Lido sea front. After dinner and listening to a 15-piece orchestra on the terrace overlooking the water, the guests turned their attention to a series of giant video screens on the beach, which began to play footage of various Pershing models at play. On cue, the 72, live and in person (so to speak), cruised in front of the terrace and up to the hotel’s entrance. Opera stars Katia Ricciarelli and Francesco Zingariello then entertained the crowd, and a fireworks display over the water was a fitting finale.
So what does Pershing plan for an encore? A fourth and final stop in Athens, Greece.
Zeus would no doubt approve.
